Found in Southern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Swaziland in South Africa in forests at elevations of 400m to 1400m as a miniature-sized, cool-growing terrestrial, epiphyte or lithophyte with 3cm to 5cm between each erect, swollen, conical to ovoid pseudobulbs carrying 3 elliptic, gradually narrowing below into the narrow sheathing base leaves, that blooms in the summer on a terminal, erect, 10cm to 15cm long, 3 to 8 flowered inflorescence.
