Found from southern Mexico south to Nicaragua as well as Cuba and Jamaica in lower montane rainforests at elevations of 600m to 2600m as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte, lithophyte or terrestrial with rigid, siple, cane-like, terete stems enveloped by warty, leafless sheaths below and carrying on the apical half, distichous, articulate, erect-spreading, lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, acuminate apically leaves that blooms in the late spring through autumn on a terminal, paniculate, rarely racemose, erect, slightly flexuous rachis, many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate, gradually shorter floral bracts and carrying 20 to 50 simultaneous opening flowers. | |||
