Found in Antioquia, Colombia as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte or terrestrial at elevations of 1800m to 2500m with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, acute leaf that gradually narrows into the slender, channeled petiole and blooms on a loose, flexuous, successively many flowered, to 15cm long, inflorescence with ovate, conduplicate, verrucose floral bracts that arises from low on the ramicaul and holds the single flower well above the leaf.
