	This lithophyte from southern China, north and south Vietnam, is found in leaf litter on limestone rocks in mixed semi-deciduous to open deciduous, broadleafed mountainous cloud forests, or on steep limestone cliffs or at the summits of limestone mountains with mosses and ferns at elevations of 450m to 1450m in partial shade and has 4 to 6, distichous, coriaceous, oblong or narrowly elliptic, acute to obtuse at the asymmetric apex, dark and light green mottled dark green leaves that are heavily purple spotted and keeled beneath, a spring blooming, single [rarely 2] flowered, green spotted with purple, white hirsute, 30cm to 50cm long, inflorescence arising from a narrowly ovate-lanceolate floral bract with a large flower having a nice [apple/raspberry] scent and likes water more than other Paphiopedilums and is a cool to warm grower that was discovered in 1984.
